So the 21 Questions concept/gimmick post is back, I’m still not exactly sure how everyone else as a whole felt about it but I had fun with it so I’m a rock it again and try and make it a semi regular post here at New Jersey Drive. As you can see by those blue words in the first sentence I have finally figured out how to properly link things ( shout to I Fux for the tutorial ) so that should make things flow a lot easier. So why 21 Questions, in case your wondering, no I’m not a 50 Stan but I needed to decide on a number of questions and well that seemed to make the most sense, end of story. Once again these are 21 things that on my mind that I am questioning, it’s not regulated to just sports, even if sports questions dominate this weeks 21 Questions. So without further ado here is installment # 2 of 21 questions.

1) So some guy not associated with USC paid O.J. Mayo tens of thousands of dollars to provide for him before he makes the jump to the NBA and the problem is what exactly ?

Students who can’t afford College but have good enough grades can get student loans, people can get credit cards or loans with the idea that they will be paid later in life and be able to pay the loans with interest back. So if someone is willing to support these kids and basically give them a loan before they go to the NBA why do you or the college care ? These guys are making calculated risks giving out loans to people with promise who will most likely be extremely rich one day, if that doesn’t happen than that guy is out money, he took the gamble and he took it on the wrong player, o well get over it move on to the next kid. College you wanna stop this, then stop milking these kids for everything they are worth to line your pockets under the false pretense that your offering them a free College education, you and I both know O.J. Mayo didn’t have to do a damn thing for school, he was your employee for a year and you just had someone else pay him. Somehow this is supposed to be wrong but continuing to keep these kids poor while the already rich institutions just get richer is how it’s supposed to be done ? Congrats O.J. Mayo for getting what was rightfully yours and in reality he was probably underpaid, let the kid live.

2) Where exactly did Delonte West come from ? I know he is from the D.C. area but I’m thinking he ha to be from another planet, either way he might just be the funniest person alive let alone athlete, how can you not fall out your chair when watching this ? Shout to I Fux for recommending this specific clip.

So what if he sounds exactly like Mos Def’s character in 16 blocks that adds to the comedic value for me, anyway theres a bunch of clips on this guy on line, do yourself a favor and watch them all, it took me a while to resuscitate myself after listening to him talk about if he could be any person in history dead or alive he would be none other than Bugs Bunny and trust me it only gets better when he explains, thats around the 4:30 mark, instant hilarity.

3) How unhealthy is my stanning of Chris Paul ?

He is by far my favorite player to watch, it might help just because he is only like 3 or 4 inches taller than me, it might be because if you ask me he has to be that much more talented and gifted than someone who is almost 7 ft. and built like they were genetically engineered to play basketball, either way he is the most fun to watch, and I have always enjoyed hearing stories about the type of kid he is since I first heard about the way he honored his Grandfather who was murdered the just days before a high school game. Anyway the point of this question is to try and give you more info on who is Chris Paul. Whether it’s about his on court mean streak or what seems like the miracle of his ability everyone needs to read as much about him because he brings a healthy excitement to the league that few others have done.

4) How can people still act like Spygate is meaningless ?

Listen I don’t buy the nonsense of it doesn’t help that much because if it didn’t help why would you risk your reputation and career on the line for something that doesn’t really help ? The problem is the Patriots had too much success for the NFL to admit the full effect of this because in order for the NFL to reprimand the Patriots properly is to basically say the last 7-8 years have been a sham. I also don’t buy that the new tapes are nothing new and no big deal, so your telling me they have been cheating since 2000 including an AFC championship game and thats not a big deal ? Even Eric Cartman knows Belichick is a cheat, South Park as hit or miss as they have been lately was dead on with this episode and as Max Kellerman says there is no one better at social commentary right now.

5) So Joba can’t celebrate striking guys out with a fist pump ? What’s the big deal ? So you want everyone to act like robots out there with no emotion ? Do people only watch the Yankees do they really think Joba’s the only one who does it ?

First off the nerve of David Dellucci to call it bush league when the Ace of his team celebrates and fist pumps after damn nigh every strikeout he gets. So when the guy on his team does it it’s not an issue, hell he probably gets excited from watching it but when a 21 year old kid does it it’s bush league ? GTFOH, second this isn’t something new Joba has done this since his very first game in fact he has done it since college and high school and as Joe Girardi mentioned somewhere in Nebraska Joba’s dad Harlen did the same fist pump at the same time, thats where Joba came from thats who he is and thats what makes him so good, you can’t curb his enthusiasm. Other pitchers in New York for the Mets are getting slammed for not showing enough emotion but Joba is showing too much ? I guess these people didn’t notice the way his energy along with Shelly Duncan’s energy helped propel the Yankees out of the hole they dug and got them into the playoffs last year. There is a double standard here and it’s not that hitters can’t stunt ( see Manny Ramirez ) and pitchers can, it’s pitchers can celebrate but Yankee pitchers can’t, they are supposed to be classy and above that, I say F that this kid is 21 years old he hasn’t won anything yet, thi is his role and he is damn good at it if you weren’t that excited in his position there is something wrong with you.

6) OK so the Cavs won the last 2 games ( apparently the Celtics can’t beat anyone on the road ) but how does Mike Brown still have a job ? Ditto for Doc Rivers, both these coaches are clueless and it shows.

The strategy or lack of strategy Mike Brown shows is disgusting, I know I have been slamming Lebron lately but thats out of frustration not hate, and truthfully it’s mostly his coaches fault. Greg Popovich, probably the best coach in the league, likes to say Chris Paul runs and organized playground and that can’t be denied but I say the Cavs run a completely unorganized playground a constant 1 on 5 with no set plays no game plan no nothing, imagine how good Lebron could be or the Celtics could be if they had a real coach with an actual idea as to what they are doing, which leads to my next question.
7) Avery Johnson has to be just sitting back patiently waiting for these guys to get fired at the end of the year and take over for them right ?

It’s ridiculous he got fired because his owner insisted on a terrible trade that not only made them worse immediately but killed their future, especially considering Avery was so obviously against the idea of trading away Devin Harris and half his bench. As unfair as it seems for Avery to take the blame its probably the best thing for him as he will no doubt be in a better situation next year.

8) Speaking of Mark Cuban and terrible moves, how much dumber does he look for refusing to trade Dirk for Kobe in the off season when Kobe was demanding a trade ?

Look at the turn around in the way Kobe has played this year, imagine how it would been if he had an even bigger chip on his shoulder and wanted to win to show the Lakers what the gave up.

9) What if the Rockets traded Yao Ming in the off season ?

I haven’t played with ESPN’s trade machine yet but I honestly think the Rockets are a better team without him, I think he slows them down and he doesn’t impose his will enough and dominate like he should, add to the fact that there is a lot of mileage on that body and he seems to get injured a lot his perceived value is much higher than his actual value at least in my opinion. You can easily find a team that would love to have him and you don’t even need to ask for anything crazy because the Rockets are a damn good team already, give them another scorer and another big body low post player or 2 and they will finally get McGrady into the second round of the playoffs, something that won’t happen with Yao. Just quickly off the top of the head a team like Golden State makes perfect sense. They desperately wanted Yi Jianlian because of the way he posted up a chair, and of course their large Asian fan base imagine if they got Yao. The Warriors could do a sign and trade with Monta Ellis and maybe Al Harrington, they would fit in much better with the Rockets and make them a better team and while I don’t think it would be a smart move for the Warriors I think they would do it.

10) How does a grown ass man still allow people to call him Boobie ?

Cedric the Entertainer doesn’t wanna call a grown ass man delicious ( and justifiably so ) and I don’t wanna call a grown ass man Boobie, nor should anyone else.

11) Theres a reason why I am so hard on Lebron for settling for jump shots and I wonder why he doesn’t just dunk it like this every time he has the ball ?

There is no excuse, I don’t wanna hear about the second line of defense cause it seems to me every time he tries to turn his shoulder and attack the basket he gets there, no need for a finger roll or lay-up either get there and put it through with some authority.

12) Who else needed a defibrillator to bring them back to life after watching Lebron tell his mom to ” Sit your ass down ” ?

LMAO @ K.G. getting in the middle and then afterwards looking at Lebron like did you really just tell your mom to ” sit your ass down ? ”

13) Speaking of Garnett, I have been very critical of Lebron and didn’t feel the need to do so to K.G. because this is nothing new but there is no excuse for him to not get 40 + every night especially against the Cavs, someone tell me who on the Cavs can even slow K.G. down let alone stop him ?

This goes back to Doc Rivers as well as K.G. but the ball should touch his hand in the post every time down the court, there is no excuse for it no to, but I’m gonna stop telling the Celtics how to get better, because well I don’t want them too.

14) Is there anyone who doubts that the Pistons will beat the Celtics at this point ?

I’m sure some are skeptical that they can beat Cavs, obviously you have to be at least a little it’s 2-2 and Lebron just finally played his first decent game if Lebron has made up his mind to take over this series the Celtics are in trouble, but if the Celtics still hold serve and win all the home games they will not be able to pull this B.S. against the Pistons cause the Pistons won’t be scared of playing in Boston and will easily take at least 1 game there.

15) Whats the deal with the ridiculous home court advantage in the playoffs this year ?

All I keep hearing is it’s about the crowd and the home crowd lifting the home team and inspiring them to take it to another level. Well a) it’s the playoffs you really need more inspiration than that ? and b) your telling me theres no Reggie Miller types anymore ? Nobody thrives on going on the road and silencing the crowd ? I understand loving to play at home it always looks like a great party but as a professional athlete shouldn’t you be just as motivated to ruin a party planned at your expense ?

16) Is Rashard Lewis dipping into Deshawn Stevenson’s stash ? What would possibly make him say the magic are still clearly the better team ? Has he been paying attention all year ?

Jameer Nelson is just trying to boost his teams confidence by saying they will win game 5 but Lewis = delusional.

17) Listen I’m not one to believe the hype, I don’t believe Barack Obama is here to save the world but why o why won’t Hilary just go away already ?

She says she will not do anything to jeopardize the democrates chances for the White House yet she continues to ignore everyone who says she is done and still taking shots at Obama trying to further divide voters supporting him. Again I’m not one to believe the votes really matter ( see George Bush ) but just seeing her face is getting on m y last nerve.

18) Can we institute a fine for every time Kenny Smith talks about checking the bottom of a point guards shoe for paint ?

It’s a good, however obvious, point and it would be one thing to say it once but he says it 12 times a night and then follows it with a long pause like he is waiting for it to sink in and have the studio erupt in laughter. It’s not funny it’s corny and you know people watch inside the NBA regularly we are all sick of that comment already. I found it especially funny when after game 4 of the Spurs hornets series he said if you check the bottom of Chris Paul’s shoe all you see is perimeter, really ? And how exactly do you see perimeter Kenny, why doesn’t the Chuckwagon just throw him throw a window when every he acts a fool ?

19) Anyone else notice Charles Barkley hysterical comments at the end of the show last night ?

The first was when he said he had anal ( || ) glaucoma ” cause you just can’t see my ass coming to work tomorrow ” and the second was when he said to Ernie Johnson ” brothers don’t use the word neat Ernie ” and Ernie responded ” you’ve heard Tiger say neat ” to which Charles replied ” that’s what I meant ”

20) So Rey is going to see Kanye tomorrow night at MSG ( as I assume lots of other nahggers are as well ) and will have a review up on this site tomorrow night when he gets back. My question is how is MSG big enough to fit both Kanye and Rey’s head ? Kanye’s metaphorically speaking of course and Rey and his fitted ? Thats got to be some type of fire hazard right ?

21) Yes Rey I know enough of the fitted hat jokes it’s getting old, but why did I have to say it ?

Obviously I was clearly running out of steam
