So yesterday I gave you the future of the AFC. I told you who was in the playoffs, what the match-ups will be and who will win. I got the COLTS in case you didn’t read it and am lazy like I tend to be. In the AFC it’s a for gone conclusion that it will be either the Colts or the Pats representing the conference in the Super Bowl this year and in the NFC most people see the same thing happening with the Cowboys and Packers. While I will agree they are the 2 best teams in the NFC right now the drop off is not nearly as great as in the AFC. Also for some reason people really seem to be counting out the Seahawks and the Bucs which leads me to believe people aren’t watching these teams because both are capable of beating either the Cowboys or the Packers, and don’t worry Land I see you, as long as the Vikings have Adrian Peterson and their D playing as good as they are they also can’t be ruled out. I know I went from saying the NFC is between 2 teams to be had, to it being a toss up between 5 teams. Thats the NFC for you, and in the end it’s not gonna matter cause which everyone emerges the victor is only gonna get kufi smacked right into the off-season.

NFC

EAST - COWBOYS ( # 1 seed first round bye, home field throughout playoffs ) The Boys finish with Philly, Carolina and Washington this does not worry them at all. Even if they lose one and the Packers win out they still got the tie breaker by beating them 2 weeks ago. So the Cowboys will look to blow out Philly this weekend and have T.O. score 8 TD’s on them and then will probably take it easy the rest of the way and start getting ready for the playoffs. Right now it seems they are the heavy favorites to take the conference but I warn people to not get too far ahead of themselves. Theres a reason why everyone wondered out loud what Jerry Jones was thinking when he hired Wade Phillips. These types of things tend to have a way of blowing up in your face as soon as you have stopped worrying about it, T.O. is going out of his way to give all the credit to Phillips and act like Parcells held the team back. Jerry Jones is not being quiet in rubbing Phillips early success in the face of his ” haters ” and like I said this seems set up perfectly for a completely unexpected ( except by me and other geniuses like me ) break down in the middle of a playoff game but I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself now.

NORTH - PACKERS ( # 2 seed, first round bye, home field until they play the Cowboys ) The Packers don’t look nearly as good as they did the Thurs. afternoon before they played Dallas. Not just because they lost to Dallas but because Brett Farve got hurt and reminded everyone he isn’t exactly a young guy anymore. ( don’t let Aaron Rodgers good play fool you, he might be that good one day but not this year not in the playoffs ) Obviously Farve came back and played last week but didn’t look quite as sharp as he has all season long but how much of that had to do with the Raiders strong pass D and horrible run D is yet to be seen. The real strength of this team though is the D and they need to have a healthy KGB and Woodson for the playoffs or they will get eaten up by any good offense they will face, meaning anyone but the Giants.

WEST - SEAHAWKS ( # 3 seed, home field first round ) Quietly this team is on to their way to a 12-4 record and all anyone can talk about is the Cowboys and Packers, well just like the Colts must love being ignored and left to work in solitude I’m sure the Seahawks love it just the same. This team is not flashy nothing crazy and exotic about them, they just play good solid all around football and the just keep winning. Hasselback is probably the most underrated QB in the league, people still treat him like a second class citizen. While he is obviously not at the level of Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, he isn’t all THAT far behind and very few who are closer to their level than him. The Seahawks have a solid overall defense their only real weakness is running the ball on offense and that will only be a big problem as long as Holgrem continues to act like Alexander has anything left in the tank, that shit done been dry. Make the full time move to Maurice Morris you and your fans will thank me.

SOUTH - BUCS ( # 4 seed, home field first round ) Another team that is being criminally slept on. ( no statutory rape ) What is it about Jeff Garcia ? Maybe the Eagles shouldn’t of let him go, I wasn’t so shocked to see him do well last year cause of the system he was in, I just didn’t think it would keep up if he left, of course I didn’t think about him being paired up with Chucky, thats a coach who can figure out how to use Garcia properly. How many of you were aware this dude is 37 years old ? I’m sure the only ones who answered are the same ones that have been ignoring him all year because they figured he was washed up, go watch the NFL network and watch some replays of Bucs games this dude is playing great this year. Also Tampa’s D is back, probably as a top 5 D in the league right now, I should know they saved my week for me at least twice this year in Fantasy Football.

WILD CARD - GIANTS ( # 5 seed, on the road ) I know some of you will call me a hater but good lord this is one awful team. Listen the D is ok, not great the fans are still living off that Eagles game in week 4. Their D-ends are really good but the secondary is a mess. They have gotten some decent play out of Aaron Ross but you Giants fans are giving him all the credit and acting like the QB’s he is making these plays off of are playing great, but enough about the D because of much of a problem as I think it is, it’s not even worth talking about compared to their QB problems. Listen this year more than any other is a year of the QB’s look at all the teams in the playoffs, most of them are filled with this years best QB’s and the ones who aren’t will be the first eliminated, yes meaning the Giants. Eli is awful really he is, not only is he awful but he plays scared and pouts after every bad throw, Shockey barely even tries to make plays anymore because he has no faith in Eli you can see it very clearly when he gives a half assed dive for the ball. Plex is hurting with that bad ankle so he isn’t nearly as explosive and he can’t get that separation he needs between him and the receiver so he can make a crazy one handing leaping catch and make Eli’s numbers look good. Sorry Giant fans I know the Giants have played better on the road than at home this year but traveling to Tampa Bay is not the answer as the BUCS win this one easy and we can start the fire Coughlin and we can’t win with Eli discussions that I bet they would be having 3 years ago.

WILD CARD - VIKINGS ( # 6 seed, on the road ) One of the other 2 teams besides the Giants in the playoffs without an elite QB ( Chargers are the other, interesting I wonder why it is I picked them to lose in their first game as well ) There is good news for Vikings fans though a) At least Tavaris Jackson is showing improvement and an actual upside ( still have yet to see that once from Eli ) and b) They win by running the ball on repeat and stopping the run. Now the bad news they have to travel to Seattle to play in that obnoxiously loud stadium, with some much youth and inexperience on this roster I’d expect lots of growing pains and mistakes and just like The Jags get a bad match-up when playing the Pats, the Seahawks don’t run as much as they pass everywhere. The Vikings secondary is much better than the stats show ( skewed stats, cause no one even tries to run on them so all they can do is pass ) but Hasselback is too good and too much of a pro to not spread the field and eat the secondary up. A.P. probably still has a big game and breaks a big run or 2 but not enough to keep up with the SEAHAWKS.

ROUND 2 DIVISIONAL PLAYOFFS

TAMPA BAY @ DALLAS - See how much harder this is than the AFC already ? I can most definitely see Tampa pulling the upset but do I just see it as a possibility or do I actually expect it to happen. Like I said before I do expect a break down in Dallas in the playoffs I do think Tampa is very underrated but are they good enough to pull this road win out ? I think so in fact I know so, look the Cowboys are too cocky right now starting with T.O. already shooting off at the mouth acting like they are having a better year than last year, well guess what T.O. ? The regular season only matters until the playoffs start and if you don’t get further in the playoffs this year then you could of been undefeated and you still didn’t have a better year, in fact I could argue because of falling short of expectations you actually had a worse year, so T.O. shut the bleep up already before the BUCS shut you up.

SEATTLE @ GREEN BAY - Another tough one, really tough one. Part of me wants to pick the Packers cause I wanna root for Farve, the other part wants the Seahawks to win so I don’t have to hear about Farve. Here is the other tricky part I think the Packers are a better team they could probably beat more teams than the Seahawks but I think the Seahawks and their coach have a great shot at shutting down Farve. Look Farve has played great all year ( except when he didn’t against the Cowboys and that was ugly ) problem is he is still Brett Farve and he won’t ever let us forget it. Farve will win you plenty of games with his strong arm however he will also always lose you a game or 6 throughout the season because of him trying to force things however that will not be this game but the next as Farve leads his PACKERS to the NFC championship game. Of course when I say Farve leads them I really mean Ryan Grant leads them because their ability to run the ball and Seattle’s ability to not run the ball will be the difference maker.

NFC CHAMPIONSHIP

TAMPA BAY @ GREEN BAY - The battle of the bays ( and no not where the gays at, where the fags migrate and give each other aids at (c) Royce Da 5′9 ) Green Bay vs. Tampa Bay in the battle to get badly beaten in the Super Bowl. Now let’s see if you guys have been paying attention ? I said it’s only a matter of time before the Farve tries to do too much and ends up hurting his team and against this BUCS D it’s not gonna take long. The Packers better hope they can run the ball effectively with Ryan Grant cause if they can’t start the game off running the ball strong Farve will have dug them waaaay too big of a hole to get out of. Either way I expect Farve to try too hard to force something and the Packers falling out of the game in just a blink of an eye.

Yeah yeah I hear you people thinking out loud to yourself, is this ninja REALLY picking the BUCS to go to the Super Bowl ? Well, yeah I mean sure I could of gone the standard Cowboys/cross your fingers for Brett Farve route but I figured let me think this out clearly and with my own thinking ( I’ve gotten into plenty of trouble this way so maybe it’s not the best move overall, but it’s definitely the most fun ) and my own thinking just leads me to believe that Brett Farve will stumble somewhere along the line and Wade Phillips is still coach Wade Phillips and theres no way he doesn’t botch something killing the Cowboys chances. For the record a big part of me wanted to pick the Seahawks to make it to the Super Bowl but I couldn’t pick both the Cowboys and Packers to lose their first playoff game so I knocked the Seahawks out for their lack of a running game. So go ahead and doubt me now but when Tampa is the talk of the league before the AFC beats the snot out of them just remember who told you it was gonna happen.
